CONTACT: Michelle Orrock, 916-448-9904

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The National Federation of Independent Business/California issued the following statement today in response to the passage of Proposition 11, the California Voters First Act. NFIB/California served as a member of the Statewide Steering Committee for Proposition 11.

"We are pleased that voters in California finally said 'enough is enough' by approving Proposition 11," said John Kabateck, executive director of NFIB/California. "The time is long overdue for legislative districts to be drawn fairly and for our legislators to be held accountable by the voters. With this victory, we look forward to our elected leaders placing the needs of our citizens above those of special interests to bring meaningful reform to the budget process, healthcare, education and many other issues affecting small business and all Californians."
