NFIB Backs Pro-Small Business U.S. Representatives From Arizona for Reelection

Leading small business association supports lawmakers who are "standing up for small business"

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The political action committee of the National Federation of Independent Business, the nation's leading small business association, today announced its endorsement of candidates in Arizona for reelection to the U.S. Congress. NFIB supports candidates who have pro-small business voting records and are strong advocates for small business owners. 

NFIB endorsed the following federal lawmakers, both of whom are past winners of NFIB's Guardian of Small Business award for their support of the free enterprise system:

    • U.S. Rep. Trent Franks (2nd District)
    • U.S. Rep. John Shadegg (3rd District)


"Arizona's small business owners are fortunate to have such strong representation championing their issues in the U.S. House," said Lisa Goeas, NFIB's vice president, political. "These congressional leaders are standing up for small business and have consistently voted for lower taxes, affordable and accessible healthcare and fewer burdensome government regulations. They understand that a growing economy starts with the state's job creators, and they know a one-size-fits-all economic policy can hurt small businesses. We offer our strong support and look forward to working with them on small business issues in the 111th Congress."

NFIB will encourage its members throughout Arizona to work on behalf of these congressional incumbents and to help turn out the influential small business voting bloc on Election Day. According to NFIB polling data, small business owners and their employees make up 43 percent of registered voters in America.

NFIB's political support is based on the candidates' positions and record on small business issues. Today's endorsements come from the NFIB SAFE (Save America's Free Enterprise) Trust, the organization's political action committee. The endorsements bring the considerable grassroots support of Arizona's small business owners to these campaigns.
