NFIB Employment Hotline

HR Solutions for Small Business

You’ve got employment questions? NFIB has answers.

It never hurts
or costs to ask!

Small business owners face numerous human resource and employment questions every day, yet they are not HR experts. But if a small business fails to manage an employment dispute appropriately, it could result in a lawsuit exposing the business to significant liability, including damages awards and attorney’s fees. To help members cope with the ever-expanding employment requirements, NFIB has teamed with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) to provide NFIB members with access to SHRM’s experienced HR advisors.

The NFIB Employment Hotline, available by calling 866-678-6342,
Monday - Friday between 8:30 AM - 8:00 PM ET,
is easy to use and offers NFIB members information on the following important employment issues:

  • Unemployment Claims
  • Workers’ Compensation Claims
  • Disability/Medical Leave
  • Fair Labor Standards Act/Wage and Hour
  • Discrimination, Hiring and Termination
  • Labor and Management Relations
  • OSHA
  • Non-Compete Agreements
  • Pension, Health Benefits and ERISA
  • Immigration

Calls to the hotline are limited to one pre month, per member, and an NFIB member ID number is required to use the service. This service is provided as general information and is not a substitute for legal or other professional advice. If you do not know your member ID number then call 800-634-2669.
