Take Action

Advocacy is a top priority at NFIB. Your involvement in protecting free enterprise will make a difference. It's easy to take action, and NFIB provides a wealth of opportunities to become a part of one of the most influential grassroots networks in the country.

NFIB’s legislative service representatives are happy to provide assistance. Please call (202) 314-2080 or email legislativeservices@nfib.org today.

Contact Your Elected Officials and Other Key Lawmakers

Become an advocate for the small business community by contacting your elected officials, and amplify the voice of small business. Personal contact is the best way to influence the policy decisions that affect your bottom line, as well as the future of your business. Contact Your Elected Officials Today

Connect with the Media in Your Community

Writing a letter to the editor or calling a local radio station about important business issues allows you to offer a short rebuttal to an article or commentary, or add a crucial missing perspective to the public debate. Most importantly, they provide you with the distinct opportunity to communicate directly to the public, influence policy makers, and frame how a certain issue impacts small business. Join NFIB's Key Contact Network

Do you have or want to develop a close relationship with your lawmaker? The most effective way to impact legislation is by developing a working relationship with top officials, and providing a valuable business perspective. Learn more about NFIB's Key Contact Network program by contacting Kristina Blair, Legislative Advocacy Coordinator, at kristina.blair@nfib.org or (202) 314-2015.

Share Your Small Business Story and Comments with NFIB

At NFIB, we use the personal stories that entrepreneurs share with us to propel the voice of small business to the forefront of issue debates and influence the outcome of federal legislation. Everyday our government affairs team meets with Members of Congress to share with them the personal stories of NFIB members, which provide lawmakers with real-life situations pertaining to legislation they are considering and how it will affect your business. To share your story, please contact our grassroots team at grassroots@nfib.org

Make a Difference at the Ballot Box through Political Activism

Electing pro-small business candidates is the first step towards protecting your business in Washington, D.C. and your state capitol. If they aren’t elected, they will never have the chance to defend small business at the front lines. There are a variety of ways to be politically active, such as voting, donating money to NFIB’s SAFE Trust, and even volunteering for a campaign. Learn more by contacting Julia Silver, Political Advocacy Coordinator, at julia.silver@nfib.org or (202) 406-4416.
