WASHINGTON, D.C., January 6,
2014
Executive
Director of the NFIB Small Business Legal Center Karen Harned
issued the
following statement in response to the NLRB announcing it will no longer require
businesses to display pro-union posters:

“Today’s announcement
is a victory for small-business owners who have been subjected to the illegal
actions of a labor board that has consistently acted outside of its authority
and failed in its duty as a neutral arbiter. The National Federation of Independent Business has the led
the charge – as a plaintiff – against the NLRB’s “Notice Posting Rule”
decision, because it served as blatant pro-union propaganda. We are pleased the
labor board has decided to comply with several court rulings and declined to
pursue this troubling agenda.”

Executive Director of the NFIB Small Business Legal Center Karen Harned
is available for comment.

This
announcement follows the United States Court of Appeals in Washington, D.C., May
2013 ruling in favor of NFIB in its challenge to Poster Rule. NFIB is the
nation’s leading small-business advocacy organization, representing 350,000
small businesses around the country.
