NFIB Key Votes Senate Motion on Healthcare Bill

Date: July 21, 2017

Senators will be scored on healthcare bill motion to proceed, says National Federation of Independent Business

Washington, D.C. (July 21, 2017) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) sent a letter today to members of the Senate announcing that their vote next week on the motion to proceed to a bill repealing Obamacare will be a key vote.

“The high cost of healthcare has been the number-one problem for small business owners for 30 years. Obamacare turned that problem into a crisis,” said NFIB President and CEO Juanita Duggan. “Solving that problem starts with repealing Obamacare, and we expect the Senate to do that next week.”

Every session of Congress, NFIB identifies the key issues for small business owners and then tracks the votes of every member of the House and Senate. The organization makes the scores available to members and the public in its How Congress Voted report. Repealing Obamacare was a key vote for the organization in 2015.

“The NFIB voting record helps our members and the public distinguish between members of Congress who say they care about small business and members of Congress who vote that way,” said Duggan.
