NFIB cites candidate’s strong support for small businesses in Congress

Washington, D.C. (July 6, 2016) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading representative of small business owners, today endorsed Rep. Tom Emmer in Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District for his commitment to Main Street.

“Congressman Emmer understands the importance of the small business sector and has demonstrated his commitment to reducing regulations and red tape,” said NFIB National Political Director Sharon Sussin. “It is important to our members that he is reelected because small business owners depend on his voice in the U.S. House to stand up against the growing number of anti-business policies.”

Rep. Emmer qualified for an endorsement from NFIB by achieving a high rating on votes scored in the current Congress. The list of the votes is available here.

“Small business owners are the backbone of Minnesota’s economy,” said Congressman Tom Emmer. “These men and women truly embody the entrepreneurial spirit that makes our nation so great.  I am honored to receive the NFIB’s endorsement and will continue to fight for the entrepreneurs who make the United States what it is today.”

Emmer’s endorsement today comes from the NFIB SAFE Trust, the organization’s political action committee.  Small business owners vote in high percentages and they are influential in their communities.  NFIB members in Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District will work hard to send Tom Emmer back to Congress.
