Washington, D.C. (April 21, 2016) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading representative of small business owners, is endorsing Rep. Ryan Costello (PA-06) for reelection. Costello has a strong record of supporting legislation that would help small businesses grow and thrive and should be returned to the U.S. House of Representatives.
“Congressman Costello’s support for small business priorities has earned him the right to be reelected,” said NFIB National Political Director Sharon Sussin. “Small business owners need champions like Costello to stand against high taxes and burdensome regulations. On every critical vote so far this Congress, he has supported sensible policies that can help small businesses grow and create jobs.”
“Small businesses are the heart and soul of our nation’s economy and the NFIB does an outstanding job representing their interests,” said Costello. “I am honored to receive their endorsement and I will continue to be an effective advocate for small business.”
Costello qualified for an endorsement from the NFIB by achieving a high rating on votes scored in the current Congress. Costello earned 100 percent on the 13 votes NFIB has monitored so far. The list of scored votes is available here.
“Rep. Costello took the time to meet with NFIB members in person in his district to discuss their concerns, and we appreciate that,” said NFIB/PA Executive State Director Kevin Shivers. “He clearly showed that he supports small business with his voting record.”
Costello’s endorsement today comes from the NFIB SAFE Trust, the organization’s political action committee. Small business owners vote in high percentages and they are influential in their communities.
