Washington,
DC (September 15, 2016)
The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the
nation’s leading advocate for small businesses, today awarded Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) with its
biennial Guardian of Small Business Award for her outstanding support of
America’s small business owners in the 114th Congress.

“Kelly Ayotte has been a staunch defender of New
Hampshire small businesses during her time in the Senate,” said NFIB President and CEO Juanita Duggan.  “She knows business owners struggle with the
burdens of high taxes and regulations put on them by the federal government.  We want to see her continue to fight for
sensible economic policies that allow small businesses to grow and prosper.”

The Guardian of Small Business is NFIB’s most
prestigious award.  It is reserved for lawmakers who vote consistently
with NFIB on the key issues identified by small business owners.  NFIB tracks the votes of every member of
Congress.  House members and Senators who
vote with NFIB members at least 70
percent of the time are eligible for the Guardian Award.

Sen. Ayotte is a three-time Guardian award winner
with a 95 percent lifetime voting record with NFIB.  Her opponent in the 2016 Senate race, Gov.
Maggie Hassan, had a 22 percent voting record in the State Senate.

 “NFIB is
honored to present Kelly Ayotte with this award, and we hope to see her back in
the Senate next year,” Duggan said.
