Leading small business group reiterates its support for reform proposal that features a single business tax rate
Washington, DC (September 15, 2016) – Juanita Duggan, President and CEO of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), issued the following statement this afternoon in reaction to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s speech today on tax reform:
“We strongly support Mr. Trump’s proposal to create a single business tax rate that would create parity between small businesses and their larger competitors. We are also strongly supportive of his plan to reduce the tax burden on small businesses and simplify the code.
“The vast majority of American businesses are small businesses. They represent more than half the GDP, and they create more than half the jobs. Mr. Trump and his advisors clearly understand that small business is the engine of the U.S. economy.”
