NFIB’s Young Entrepreneur Foundation has awarded $2500 scholarships to York College students Devon Buettner and Jeremy Canouse. Both are in the Entrepreneurship Program. The awards were based on scholarship.
Devon Buettner says while growing up he routinely purchased items at flea markets and re-sold them for a profit. He transferred from a Business major to Entrepreneurship because he wants to be in control of his own business. Buettner, a Central York High School graduate, is currently a junior at York College. He expects to open a company upon graduation, possibly in the area of physical fitness.
Jeremy Canouse, a sophomore at York College, says his mother wanted him to be a doctor or a dentist, but he decided to enter the Entrepreneurship Program instead. Canouse is from the Reading area, and he graduated from Wilson High School in West Lawn. He would like to have his own personal brand, control his company and develop products. Right now he is considering starting a consultancy business with marketing as a focus.
