HARRISBURG, (April 19, 2016) – The National Federation of Independent Business, the nation’s leading small-business association, today announced the endorsement of Tom Killion in his bid for the state Senate in the 9th district in Delaware and Chester Counties.  Tom Killion has served in the state House of Representatives since 2003 and has an excellent record of voting to support small businesses.

“You can bet as a state senator Tom Killion will stand for small-business owners, manufacturers, working families and family farmers,” said Kevin Shivers, executive state director of NFIB Pennsylvania.

“With ongoing budget battles in Harrisburg and talk of billions of dollars in tax increases on small businesses and working families, this election is critically important.  We need reform minded lawmakers in Harrisburg that are willing to stand up against calls for higher taxes, work to reduce excessive regulations, and take steps to tackle the growing public pension crisis,” said Shivers.

In the most recent legislative session Tom Killion voted with small business 100% of the time.  He also has an excellent record as a supporter of small business during his entire tenure in the state House.

NFIB has 14,000 small-business members in Pennsylvania representing a cross-section of the state’s economy. The endorsement comes from NFIB Pennsylvania’s SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the association’s political action committee, and are based on positions regarding key small-business issues including health care, taxes, and labor and regulatory issues.

Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB will encourage its members to help turn out the small-business vote for Killion on March 15.
