Indiana's New Campaign for Adult Education

Date: May 26, 2016

Investing in employee education programs pays off. Long-term
benefits include increased employee loyalty, engagement, retention and
productivity—and reduced costs from employee turnover and hiring. These
programs also help our economy grow by building Indiana’s future workforce.

Did you know about 750,000 Hoosier adults started college
but didn’t finish? Helping these men and women return and complete a degree or
workforce credential is the goal of “You Can. Go Back.”

Launched by the State of Indiana in February, “You Can. Go
Back.” is a campaign that targets this adult population in partnership with
Indiana’s colleges—offering tuition assistance and discounts, grade and debt
forgiveness, flexible programs that accommodate busy working adult schedules,
and more.

Indiana businesses already make significant investments in
education and training for their employees.

The State is asking employers to share information about
their existing employee education and training programs—and connecting
employers with Indiana colleges to enhance and start new employee education
programs.

The employer community is critical to helping Indiana
achieve its statewide goal for 60% of Hoosiers to have the postsecondary
degrees and credentials they need for career success in Indiana’s modern
workforce. “You Can. Go Back.” targets the adult population to help Indiana
reach this goal.

You can help.
