HARRISBURG, (July 7, 2016) – The National Federation of
Independent Business, the nation’s leading small-business association, today
announced the endorsement of Chris Quinn in his bid for the state House
district 168 in Delaware and Chester Counties. A special election for that seat
will be held on Tuesday July 12.
“Chris Quinn owns his own insurance agency and has worked in
manufacturing, so he knows personally what small-business owners face,”
said Kevin Shivers, executive state
director of NFIB Pennsylvania.
“As small-businesses see their elected officials vote to increase
state spending, they are concerned that the burden will fall on them in the
form of higher taxes. Chris has made it clear he is a fiscal conservative who
believes that tax and spend policies do not create jobs. We need reform minded lawmakers in Harrisburg who are
willing to stand up against calls for higher taxes, work to reduce excessive
regulations, and take steps to tackle the growing public pension crisis,” said
Shivers.
NFIB has 14,000 small-business members in Pennsylvania
representing a cross-section of the state’s economy. The endorsement comes from
NFIB Pennsylvania’s SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the
association’s political action committee, and are based on positions regarding
key small-business issues including health care, taxes, and labor and
regulatory issues.
Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and
are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to
go to the polls. NFIB will encourage its members to help turn out the
small-business vote for Quinn on July 12.
