Small Business Backs McGorty in 122nd District Special

Business (NFIB) cites candidate’s private sector experience and his positions
on the issues

of Independent Business (NFIB) today endorsed Realtor and businessman Ben McGorty of Shelton in bid to
represent the 122nd District in the July 22nd Special
“Ben’s positions on the issues align perfectly
with our membership but we were most impressed by his private sector experience,”
said NFIB Connecticut State Director
Andrew Markowski. “That kind of
experience is badly needed in Hartford”.
The 122nd House District includes Shelton,
Stratford and Trumbull. In addition to
his work in real estate and activity in the community, McGorty is also the
owner of an insurance inspection business.
He wants to cut taxes, broaden the state’s economic strategy, and
support technical training for skilled manufacturing jobs.
“Connecticut has one of the worst reputations in
America as a place to do business and Ben understands how that affects
investment and job growth,” said Markowski.
“His positions as a candidate are clearly informed by his private sector
experience and he’ll be a great asset for small business in the House.”
McGorty is running against Arlene Liscinsky, also
of Shelton. His endorsement was made by
the NFIB SAFE-Trust, the group’s political action committee. Small business owners are influential in
