NJ BAC provides four big resources for New Jersey's small businesses

Date: July 29, 2016 Last Edit: August 02, 2016

The New Jersey
Business Action Center (NJ BAC), through the Office of Small Business Advocacy,
has a variety of resources designed to help small business owners in the state.
As NJ.com
recently reported, the following four BAC resources are available to small businesses
at no cost:

1. One-Call Mentoring

Wouldn’t it be great to have a no-cost business mentor on speed dial?
Good news: the BAC call center responds to your call within seconds,
answering real-time questions and directing you to the resources you
need. The call center is open for business weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5
p.m. at (866) 534-7789. (By the way, call center reps counseled over
30,000 businesses in 2015 alone).

2. Financing Help

Don’t miss out on financing options offered by the NJ Economic
Development Authority and community-based micro-lending organizations.
The BAC’s Office of Small Business Advocacy can identify financing and
incentive programs that can help your business grow. What’s more, BAC
advocates can assist you in finding the resources to repair and build
your credit.

3. Export Assistance

Dreaming of broader horizons for your small business? BAC advocates can help you go abroad with valuable export assistance.
Not only will you learn the basics about exporting, but you’ll be
connected with a team of international advocates who will help you
develop a plan for global success.

4. On-the-Spot Events

Small business owners are busy. That’s why the BAC hosts “Resources
for Business Growth” events at various state locations throughout the
year. These events bring state and county representatives and community
partners, including the NJ Small Business Development Center (NJSBDC)
and the NJ Economic Development Authority, to you. “Business owners are
on the job every day and often don’t have time to travel to Trenton for
support,” said Don Newman, director of the NJ BAC’s Office of Small
Business Advocacy. “At our recent Monmouth County ‘Resources’ event, a
small business owner was able to complete a loan application with one of
our partnering micro lenders — and as a result, was approved for their
first business loan.” Visit NJ BAC’s home page for upcoming events.

The BAC Call Center, (866) 534-7789, is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday through Friday. Spanish-speaking advocates are available. For an
overview of the BAC’s services, visit the State of New Jersey Business Portal.

Housed within the
New Jersey Department of State and reporting to Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno, the
BAC’s core mission is to help the private sector create and retain jobs while
encouraging capital investment in the Garden State.
