SMALL BUSINESS AWARDS HUTTON WITH PRESTIGIOUS AWARD

MADISON (January 5, 2017): The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) is proud to announce that Representative Hutton received their prestigious Guardian Award for his 2016 voting record. The state’s largest small business advocacy group presented the award in recognition of his work in defending free enterprise as well as his commitment to growing Wisconsin’s small business community.

“The small business community is incredibly grateful for Representative Hutton’s leadership and support on a great deal of small business issues.  From the prevailing wage repeal to personal property tax reforms, he has stood steadfastly behind Wisconsin’s small employers,” according to Bill G. Smith, NFIB Wisconsin state director. “He is clearly sensitive to not only the needs of the small business community but the day to day challenges that they face.”

Rep. Hutton was first elected to the Assembly in 2012 and reelected in 2014.  He has consistently voted for pro-small business legislation not only last year but in several years prior. NFIB keeps track of the voting records of legislators and at the end of every year, publicizes the record to their members and the general public.  Those that have scored highest are considered Guardian Award winners.

“Representative Hutton exemplifies the qualities of leadership and advocacy for the small business community. We have worked closely with him for several years now, and we look forward to continuing to do just that this year,” continued Smith. “Knowing that he committed to assisting our members and that we have such a staunch advocate in Madison brings us all tremendous comfort.”
