While the reforms to the New York State Workers’ Compensation system adopted in last year’s budget are a step in the right direction to helping lower costs for employers, NFIB continues to fight for changes that will offer significant savings.
A key piece of the meaningful reforms package passed last year includes the adoption of new medical impairment guidelines by January 1, 2018.
In recent months, the Workers’ Comp board, business community, medical professionals and labor representatives have come together to discuss the guidelines. Public comments responding to the latest draft impairment guidelines are due October 23rd. NFIB, along with its partners in the business community, will be submitting extensive comments.
