We know all too well that what happens in Washington has a
big impact on your small business. In an effort to both amplify your voice and
keep you apprised of what’s going on in Washington, NFIB New Jersey hosted four
events last week across the state.

Our most popular events proved to be the roundtables with
Congressman LoBiondo in Egg Harbor and Congressman Frelinghuysen in
Fairfield.  Both events drew a crowd of NFIB members and small business
owners who each had their own unique story to tell about how federal laws and
regulations impact their business. Both Congressmen were receptive to the
feedback and vowed to stand up for New Jersey small business owners in
Washington.

Our evening meetings in Toms River and Cherry Hill featured
a briefing on healthcare and taxes from NFIB Federal Public Policy Director,
Matt Turkstra. Most members at these briefings expressed frustration over the
confusing new healthcare requirements. Even those businesses not affected by
the Affordable Care Act, said they were facing other hurdles, namely keeping up
with the numerous state and federal regulation requirements.

If you weren’t able to attend one of our meetings, feel free
to contact Member Support Manager, Miranda Bond miranda.bond@nfib.org with any
questions. We hope to see you at our next event.

Special thanks to the following NFIB member business for sponsoring our events: The Shore Diner, Capone’s and Brewster Washer
