Do you know a high school senior with some entrepreneurial ambition? There’s no better way to nurture that than with a Young Entrepreneur Award from NFIB.
The application process for one of the nation’s most publicized scholarships is now open and can be found online here. And NFIB members have an opportunity to donate to one of the best causes around: Building the next generation of small-business owners and entrepreneurs.
Here’s what students need to know:
- The application process for a 2014 YEF award is now open and runs through December 18, 2013
- An independent selection committee will review all applications and select semi-finalists. Semi-finalists will be notified by mid-January
- Semi-finalists MUST be interviewed by an NFIB member, who will be assigned to each semi-finalist.
- The award recipients are selected by an independent scholarship organization. Scholarships are merit-based, not based on financial need.
Since 2003, YEF has awarded more than 2,500 scholarships worth more than $2.5 million to graduating high school seniors. It awards students who have demonstrated entrepreneurial talent by owning and/or operating their own business. Young Entrepreneur awards range from $1,000 to $10,000 per students to further their studies in a two-year or four-year institution of higher learning while encouraging them to consider joining the ranks of America’s independent business owners.
