Small business owners from around the state talk with House Speaker Tom Leonard at the NFIB Small Business Day Round Table event held in Lansing, MI.

NFIB member-small business owners from around the state gathered in Lansing to meet with legislative and administration leaders, get an in-depth report on what is happening in Lansing and Washington, DC, as well as network with State Representatives and Senators.  This year’s event was a “round table” format to facilitate more discussion between attendees and our speakers.

Members spent time discussing issues with House Speaker Tom Leonard, Senate Majority Leader Arlan Meekhof, House Tax Policy Chair Jim Tedder (R-43), and State Senator Jim Stamas (R-36). They also had an opportunity to share Unemployment Insurance tax concerns with the newly appointed director of the Unemployment Insurance Agency, Michelle Beebe, and Bruce Noll, Assistant Deputy Director with the Unemployment Insurance Agency. An update on what is going on in Lansing and Washington DC was provided by Jack Mozloom, NFIB National Media Communications Director and Charlie Owens, NFIB State Director.

If you were not able to attend, make plans for next year! Event details will be provided in the spring of 2018.
