NFIB Testifies in support of "No Stricter Regs" Bill

Date: May 18, 2016 Last Edit: May 31, 2016

NFIB testified in support of House Bill 5613 sponsored by
Representative Triston Cole before the House Regulatory Reform Committee. The
bill would limit the promulgation of rules in Michigan to a standard of “no
stricter than federal rules”. A similar bill was supported by NFIB as part of a
package of regulatory reform bills passed by the legislature in 2011, however
it was vetoed by Governor Snyder. The new bill, HB 5613, attempts to address
the concerns expressed by the Governor in his veto message and the bill sponsor
has been working with the Governor’s office to gain support for the bill.
