Rawlings-Blake earmarks $1 million for small business innovation.

Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake wants small business
owners to have access to a $1 million innovation fund and the latest
technology, she said in her annual State of the City Address earlier this
month.

“It is very clear that small business is the backbone for
a growing economy,” Rawlings-Blake told the Baltimore Sun.

The speech outlined several other small business growth
initiatives, including double the budget for the city’s Small Business Resource
Center, and hiring a Spanish-speaking translator to make the center more
accessible to an influx of Hispanic small business owners in the city.
