UNFAIR MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE WILL DESTROY SMALL BUSINESSES
“In spite of
what the proponents of this increase will tell you, raising the minimum wage is
the surest way to destroy jobs, damage small businesses, and increase prices to
customers. Research also shows there will be a ripple effect of wage costs that
will magnify the economic damage.
Even a modest increase in the wage floor will hurt workers,
customers, and small business owners statewide and especially in rural areas
and other places with struggling economic conditions. Small business owners
that pay minimum wage overwhelming use it as a starting or training wage and
increasing it arbitrarily will result in more incentive to use equipment and
potentially lead to fewer jobs available for those seeking employment. This is
nothing more than a ploy to spend other people’s money in an attempt to create
feel good legislation.”
