Is Your Business Hurricane-Ready?

Summer may be winding down, but
hurricane season is far from over. Is your business ready?

The Atlantic hurricane season runs
from June 1 through Nov. 30, and The Weather Channel recently predicted 10 more
named storms this year. The Times-Picayune
also warned against complacency. If you haven’t already done so, NFIB/LA
encourages all members to put together a business continuity plan in case of
extreme weather.

 A great resource is Ready.gov’s
2016 Hurricane Season Preparedness Toolkit
. These materials cover:

?
What you should know about hurricanes

?
Determining your risk

?
Developing an evacuation plan

?
Securing an insurance checkup

?
Assembling disaster supplies

?
Strengthening your home (or business)

?
Identifying trusted sources of information on hurricane
coverage

?
Completing a written hurricane plan
