SMALL BUSINESS EXPRESSES DISAPPOINTMENT WITH RIGHT TO WORK VOTE

Date: February 16, 2017

(CONCORD) February 16, 2017: In response to the House’s vote today on right-to-work legislation, the following statement may be attributed to National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) New Hampshire State Director, Bruce Berke:

We are certainly disappointed that the rights of workers throughout the state did not receive the support that they deserve. At no point should anyone be forced to participate in a union or have their hard earned wages deducted from their paychecks against their wills.

The small business community had hoped that we would reap the economic benefits of becoming the first right-to-work state in the Northeast. While that will clearly not be a reality in the near future, we remain optimistic that one day the stronghold that unions have on our state economy will be a thing of the past.
