The National Federation of Independent Business has presented state Rep. Pat Marsh with its coveted Guardian of Small Business Award. The presentation was made Thursday, Sept. 8, at Big G Express, an NFIB member business in Shelbyville.
The Guardian of Small Business award is the most prestigious honor that NFIB bestows on legislators in recognition of their efforts to support small business issues. The NFIB Tennessee Leadership Council, an advisory board comprised of NFIB members, voted to present the award to the legislator for supporting small-business issues in this year’s session of the General Assembly.
“Pat Marsh is a very strong supporter of small business,” said Jim Brown, state director of NFIB. “Entrepreneurs across the state appreciate his commonsense approach for less government and less regulation in his role as chairman of the House Business & Utilities Committee. He understands licensing, labor and workforce issues especially well, since he owns and operates a successful independent business. He is truly a Guardian of Small Business.”
