WORKERS COMPENSATION REFORM PROVIDES SMALL BUSINESS WITH PIECE OF MIND

DES MOINES (March 30, 2017): In response to worker’s compensation reform becoming law in Iowa this evening, the following statement may be attributed to National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Iowa State Director, Matt Everson:

Thanks to Governor Branstad’s support, today has been an exceptional day for the small business community in Iowa. With his signature comes the piece of mind that insurance costs will stabilize while still providing employees in need of our worker’s compensation plan the protection they deserve.

This legislation puts safeguards in place to protect employers from excessively litigious individuals and helps improve our ability to compete with neighboring states by stabilizing insurance costs. Our members are truly grateful for the legislative support on this issues, not the least of which came from the Governor himself.
