NFIB Endorses Bob Dold in 10th District Congressional Race

Date: May 14, 2014

The National Federation of Independent Business,
Illinois’ and the nation’s leading small-business association, has endorsed
Bob Dold for Congress in Illinois’ 10th District.

“Our members support the candidates who support small
business,” said Lisa Goeas, NFIB vice president for Political and Grassroots.
“Bob Dold stood with our members time and again in Congress. We need to send
him back.”

Kim Clarke Maisch, state director of NFIB/Illinois, said,
“Throughout his career, Bob Dold’s commitment to small business has been second
to none. His support of free enterprise has been unwavering. If we’re serious
about fixing things for small business, we need leaders like Bob Dold back in Congress.

“Unlike too many members of Congress, Bob Dold is a
small-business owner,” Maisch said. “His real-world business
experience made him a natural advocate for small-business legislation while in
Washington.” Dold earned a 92-percent NFIB Voting record in the 112th
Congress, supporting the small-business position on key issues such as the need
to pass sensible regulations and ease the tax burden on small-business owners and
working families.”

Dold’s endorsement comes from the NFIB SAFE (Save
America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the association’s political action committee,
and is based on the candidate’s record and positions on key small-business
issues including health care, taxes and labor and regulatory issues.

“Given that his opponent has earned a pitiful 22-percent
NFIB voting record, taking with the small-business position only twice in the
113th Congress, I think there’s no question that Bob Dold is the
best candidate for Illinois’ 10th District,” Goeas said.

NFIB has 11,000 dues-paying members in Illinois, representing
a cross section of the state’s economy. Small-business owners and their
employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends,
family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB will encourage its
members to help turn out the small-business vote for Bob Dold on Nov. 4.
