Vote Tuesday to Protect Your Business from Service Taxes

Date: November 01, 2016

New taxes on service would increase your liability, costs, time, and regulatory burden.

Vote Tuesday to Protect Your Business from Service Taxes

On Tuesday, there are a variety
of important issues on the ballot that need small business weigh-in. In
addition to numerous statewide races, Missourians will also vote on Amendment
4, which would prohibit state and local governments from imposing any new sales
or use tax on services.

Importance of Amendment 4

NFIB is part of a wide coalition that supports the passage of Amendment 4. New sales taxes on services have been proposed in the last seven sessions of the Missouri General Assembly, and the Missouri Department of Revenue is also telling businesses that some delivery charges should be subject to sales taxes. If Amendment 4 is not passed, the door will be open for the implementation of new sales taxes, which could have disastrous impact on your business.
