ALBANY – New York’s leading small business
association, the National Federation of Independent Business, has endorsed Jim
Fischer in the 112th Assembly District.

“Jim Fischer
is the right candidate for small business in this
race,” said NFIB/New York State Director Mike Durant.  “As a small
business owner, Jim understands the complex issues facing employers in New York
and has the right solutions.  Jim will
fight to reduce taxes, reform the job stifling red tape and push for much
needed mandate relief.  We look forward
to working with Jim in the State Assembly on behalf of the small business
community,” Durant said.

Small business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are
known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go
to the polls.

“I’m proud to have
earned the endorsement of the NFIB and I will be a strong advocate for small
businesses when I am elected to the New York State Assembly.  NFIB
member businesses are the backbone of upstate’s economy and the largest
creator of jobs,” said Jim Fischer. “With the increasingly hostile environment
toward job creators in Albany, it is more important than ever that we elect
strong advocates and people who understand the challenges that small
businesses face in New York State.  After 26 years in business here
in the Capital Region, I know how important NFIB’s work is to both employers
and employees.  Like them, I will strive to be a tireless advocate for the
small business community in the 112th Assembly District.”

NFIB’s political support is based on the candidate’s position and record
on small business issues. Fischer’s endorsement
comes from the NFIB/New York SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the
political action committee for NFIB/New York’s membership. The endorsement puts
the considerable grassroots support of the state’s small businesses behind the Fischer
campaign.
