Florida's Legislature Reaches a Budget Compromise, But Pares Down Tax Cuts

It hasn’t the state legislative session Florida small business owners hoped for.

Florida’s state legislative leaders have forged a compromise on a $83 billion state budget, as the 60-day session winds to a later-than-expected close. As lawmakers worked overtime to reach a deal, news broke this week that the session will be extended by one day.

Little details about what the budget means for small business owners are available, though. The budget is expected to feature a $622 million cut to healthcare spending. But the session ended up being a mixed bag for small business.The budget will take effect on July 1.
