Earlier this month, National Small Business Week celebrated the tremendous importance of entrepreneurs and small business owners—more than half of Americans own or work for a small business, which create roughly two-thirds of new private-sector jobs—while also acknowledging the challenges they face, especially in the first few years.
For Garden State entrepreneurs and small business owners, the New Jersey Business Action Center is doing what it can to help with dedicated support, including:
- A comprehensive “Starting a Business” checklist
- Mentoring assistance from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every weekday
- Financing and incentive programs through the Economic Development Authority and community microlending organizations
- International export and marketing assistance
- Business growth events throughout the year
