DOVER (February 23, 2017): The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Delaware PAC is announcing their endorsement today of John Marino in the 10th State Senate race. The special election is taking place this Saturday to fill a vacancy in the Delaware Senate that will determine the majority.
“As a small business owner, John Marino knows all too well the struggles of owning and operating in the state of Delaware. After receiving his candidate survey, the choice for endorsement in this race was clear,” according to NFIB Delaware State Director, Mike O’Halloran. “If elected, his focus will be on legislation that keeps lawmakers out of the day to day operation of small businesses and ensures economic growth. Our members could certainly use more lawmakers that think along the same lines as Mr. Marino.”
Saturday’s special election was triggered when the seat became vacant after its predecessor was elected Lieutenant Governor in November. Marino, a retired police officer, has advocated for his local community for years and made the decision to run for the seat to improve conditions state-wide.
“The combination of his dedication to reducing regulations as well as his determination to fight for fiscally responsible reforms will make Mr. Marino an excellent additional to Dover if he is elected,” continued O’Halloran. “Ultimately, what our members strive for is a reduction in the cost of doing business in Delaware. We hope to work with Mr. Marino in the Senate to make that a reality.”
