(HARTFORD) October 26, 2017: In response to the House passing the 2017 budget today, the following statement may be attributed to National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Connecticut State Director, Andrew Markowski:
Perhaps the best part of today is that the fiscal uncertainty that the small business community has been facing is nearing an end. Spending the past several months without a budget has had an impact on our state and our employment numbers. Governor Malloy called upon the legislature to deliver a budget that did not include new broad-based tax changes and they delivered. This budget may not be a perfect product, but we hope that he will act quickly and sign it so that lawmakers can move on and begin to deal with the long-term fundamental issues that will continue to plague our budget situation if they are not addressed.
