2015 Small Business Day a Huge Hit With Colorado Members

Date: September 08, 2015

Since the first one in the late 90s, NFIB/Colorado’s Small Business Days at the Capitol have been one of the most circled events on the calendars of top elected officials and policymakers. That’s because of the appreciation guests of the day have for people like you: The small-business owners of our state who generate nearly all the jobs and employ more than half of all workers.

This year’s event was no different in drawing top legislative leaders anxious for the opportunity to talk to and hear from NFIB-member entrepreneurs, but 2015 added a little dash of pepper to the proceedings with a keynote speech by celebrity chef Keegan Gerhard of the Food Network and owner of D Bar restaurant in Denver, preceded by remarks Pinnacol CEO Phil Kalin. Edited videos of both men’s speeches can be seen below, as can top lawmakers and NFIB members themselves discussing the importance of small-business involvement in the affairs of our state.

We thank the more than 75 members from all over Colorado who traveled to Denver that special day and hope those who couldn’t make it join us in 2016. The more small-business owners we have in attendance, the louder we speak, and the less our message is forgotten in the halls of the state Legislature.

We’d also like to thank our sponsors for their generosity in making this year’s Small Business Day at the Capitol the best ever. Check out their logos beneath the videos.
