Small-Business Owners to Converge on State Capitol

Date: February 03, 2016

PHOENIX, Ariz., Feb. 3, 2016—Small-business owners from around Arizona will gather at the State Capitol next week (Wednesday, February 10) for their annual Small Business Day at the Capitol event, organized by their largest and leading representative association, the National Federation of Independent Business.
“Our annual Small Business Day at the Capitol has as its over-arching goal the reminder to legislators that Main Street, mom-and-pop enterprises are not smaller versions of bigger business, but instead have much tougher difficulties in remaining solvent,” said Farrell Quinlan, Arizona state director for NFIB, which has 350,000 members nationwide, including nearly 7,000 on Arizona.
“I want to thank Gov. Doug Ducey, House Speaker David Gowan, and Senate President Andy Biggs for taking some time away from their busy schedules this session to speak to our members and their guests,” said Quinlan. “I think it’s a reflection of the high regard they hold small business in as the largest employer of private-enterprise jobs in the state and the place where almost all of us got our first start in our working lives.”
NFIB’s 2016 Small Business Day at the Capitol is open to all small-business owners, regardless of whether they are members of NFIB. The cost to attend is $35 per person, which includes lunch. Registration can be made online here. For more information, contact NFIB/Arizona Member Support Manager Melissa Keckler by email, or by calling her at 602-263-7690.
