BUSINESS OWNERS BEWARE—IMPORTANT SEPTEMBER 18 DEADLINE APPROACHES.

A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE NATIONAL FEDERATION OF INDEPENDENT BUSINESS.

EVERY BUSINESS OWNER MUST START USING THE NEW VERSION OF FORM I-9 ON OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER 18.

THE FORM IS REQUIRED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO VERIFY EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY FOR CITIZENS AND NON-CITIZENS ALIKE.

THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS—BUSINESSES BIG AND SMALL MUST COMPLY.

THE NEW FORM I-9 SHOULD BE COMPLETED FOR ALL ACTIVE EMPLOYEES HIRED AFTER NOVEMBER 6, 1986, AND RETAINED FOR FORMER EMPLOYEES.
