Why NFIB Members Should Taste New York

NFIB has long supported legislation that expands opportunities for sales and tastings of products from farms and distilleries.

Why NFIB Members Should Taste New York

Summer means New York’s farms produce their greatest bounty of fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as a host of other products from wine, craft beer and cider to cheese, beef, baked goods and honey.

The Taste NY program showcases some of the best food and wine in the nation. Since the program started in 2014, Taste NY has expanded promotional opportunities for about 1,100 producers to offer locally grown and crafted food and beverage products at farmers markets at Thruway rest stops, in New York City’s Grand Central Station, in airports and at events statewide.

Farmers and other artisans can sign up to participate or be added to the Taste NY database of products at www.taste.ny.gov. NFIB has long supported legislation that expands opportunities for sales and tastings of products from farms and distilleries including bills to promote kitchen incubators, promote sales for roadside stands, secure financing for micro-enterprises, modernize food and beverage regulations and ensure a fair and sensible approach to farm labor.

Here are a list of upcoming Taste NY events this summer.
