The 62 session of the Utah State Legislature convenes for its 2017 first half of business on January 23, 2017, with some challenges for small business.

Eliminating the Business Personal Property Tax
NFIB has succeeded in lowering the Business Personal Property Tax, but eliminating altogether is its ultimate goal.
Stopping a Sales Tax on Credit Card Fees
NFIB is lobbying extensively against the sales tax on fees being charged by the credit card companies.
Fighting Bills Harmful to Small Business
Even legislators who should know better sometimes get side-tracked into supporting measures that hurt, not help, small businesses, which is why they consider NFIB the most valuable arbiter for Main Street in the State Capitol.
Reforming Health Care
The cost of health care has been a small-business owners top concern for 30 years, according to polls conducted by NFIB, which is why America’s voice of small business will continue its work with the Health System Reform Task Force to include other options that will lower insurance premiums.
