TRENTON (November 7, 2017): In response to Phil Murphy being declared victorious in today’s gubernatorial race, the following statement may be attributed to National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) New Jersey State Director, Laurie Ehlbeck:
Tonight the people of New Jersey have spoken, and we would like to congratulate Governor-Elect Phil Murphy on his victory. The small business community wants nothing more than to see the state of New Jersey prosper under the next administration and in order for our economy and our small business sector to thrive, we firmly believe that the small business community must have a seat at the policy table.
We hope to have the opportunity to work with Governor-Elect Murphy to ensure that the best interests of the small business community are heard while he develops new policy initiatives for our state. His success as a Governor will no doubt hinge on our state’s economic conditions, and we look forward to opening the dialogue with his transition team if they are willing to do so.
