Over the last few weeks, the media has been abuzz with news of President-elect Donald Trump’s newest appointments. Here are what some of his latest choices might mean for small business.

Linda McMahon talked with Trump on Wednesday, and people suspect she is being considered for chief of the Small Business Administration.
“We talked about business and entrepreneurs and creating jobs, and we talked about SBA,” said McMahon about the meeting, according to The New York Times.
Linda McMahon is co-founder and former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, with a net worth estimated at $855 million. Early this year McMahon launched Women’s Leadership LIVE, a company geared toward promoting leadership opportunities for women.
Steven Mnuchin has been announced as Treasury secretary.
Mnuchin spoke on CNBC about the administration’s plans to cut corporate taxes, “which will bring huge amounts of jobs back to the United States,” and a big tax cut for the middle class.
“The No. 1 problem with Dodd-Frank is it’s way too complicated, and it cuts back lending,” Mnuchin said. He wants to “strip back those parts” of Dodd-Frank, but avoided mentioning a full repeal.
The administration expects sustained economic growth of 3 percent to 4 percent a year, a huge amount of growth not seen for decades, according to The New York Times.
Rep. Lou Barletta told ABC27 in Pennsylvania that Trump has offered him the position of Secretary of Labor.
Sources originally believed Barletta would be offered the role of Secretary of Transportation as he is a cardinal on the House Transportation Committee, according to Politico. Barletta was one of the first congressmen in the country to endorse Trump, strongly advocating for him at rallies across Pennsylvania.
Barletta is a former small business owner, having operated a line-painting company before representing several counties including parts of Dauphin, Perry, and Cumberland in Pennsylvania. His small business experience and commitment is likely a large part of what makes him appealing for the position of Secretary of Labor.
