Small Business Reacts to Confirmation of CA Attorney General Becerra
NFIB seeks to accept Attorney General Becerra’s offer to sit down to discuss public policy solutions to support California small businesses
SACRAMENTO, Calif., January 23, 2017 – Following the confirmation of California Attorney General Xavier Becerra by the California Legislature, NFIB California State Executive Director Tom Scott issued the following statement on behalf of our 22,000 dues-paying small business members:
“Although NFIB California raised substantive policy concerns based on Mr. Becerra’s congressional voting record on important small business issues, we congratulate our new California Attorney General and look forward to working together to support small businesses across the state. While dismissing the positions of certain ‘ghost organizations’ during his confirmation hearings, Mr. Becerra also stated a willingness to sit down with small business representatives if confirmed as California’s next Attorney General.
“As the largest dues-paying membership-driven small business association in California representing 22,000 small business owners, we gladly accept this invitation to sit down and discuss ways to collaboratively support small businesses within the scope of the Attorney General’s office.”
