What first attracted you to NFIB as an employer?
I was attracted to NFIB by the earning potential. I was a teacher and was unable to make my house payments during the summer.
What do you like most about working at NFIB?
The freedom and flexibility. While at NFIB I have had two babies, who are now 17 and 20. This job allowed me to make a great living and be a mom, too. I never missed a class party, and I volunteered in their classroom and was even PTA president. This job gave me the flexibility to do these things.
How does NFIB help you realize your personal goals?
I thrive on the competition and recognition for a job well done. The living I make affords my family a great lifestyle—especially now that my children are grown and I can devote more focus to my job.
How do the mission and values of NFIB align with your own?
NFIB represents people who are the "salt of the earth"—they are hard working and enterprising. I love our members and the freedom we fight to preserve each day.
What kind of positive relationship with co-workers and/or members have you created?
I strive to get to the President's Club each year because my husband and I see friends from across the country. We would so miss this opportunity.
To what kind of person would you recommend a career at NFIB?
I would recommend this career to someone who loves recognition and striving to be their best. I think it is only for someone who is able to think positive in sometimes discouraging circumstances and doesn't mind working alone. This is either the best or the worst job you will ever have!
Have you been recognized as a high achiever at NFIB? If so, how does that recognition increase your job satisfaction and personal satisfaction?
Yes; this is a huge motivator for me. I love going to the President's Club and striving to do better each year. It is great for your self-esteem to know you have done well. As a teacher, this was hard to measure and many times others would make more money and not work as hard. With NFIB you are paid for what you produce—not on seniority or favoritism.
