The sad but honest truth is the money. I was literally starving as a greenskeeper at a local golf course when a friend told me he just got a great job with NFIB:
"They fight for small business."
"They need someone in your town."
"Well, OK, that's a little better."
"They pay 600 a week to train."
"Why didn't you say so?"
And from there things got better—much better.
It is really cool being on a winning team. NFIB wins. NFIB always wins. We will never give up until we win. And walking into a business knowing you represent the indomitable spirit on the American continent as a significant part of the purpose to defend our personal and economic freedoms is very likeable. It's awesome being on a winning team.
The environment of commission allows me to perform at the level that sets me apart from others and lets me earn the means to take care of needs and advance my life. With patience and persistence, my dreams are actually within reach.
Confronting individuals and agencies that would take from free individuals without representation gets me excited. I love standing up for what's right. NFIB is like the good friend you hope you can count on when bullies show up for your lunch money. We do the right thing: We stand up for it and stay in the fight until the job is done. It's pretty straight forward.
Having the benefits is like having a safety net. It's not something I really pay attention to, but they came in handy after a serious car collision. Because the benefits were there, I was able to get back to work without any serious damage to my credit.
The best. The quality of individuals that rise to the top at NFIB meet at the President's Club, where winners meet winners and bask in the recognition of each other's true character and achievement. In this company, quality is affirmed by recognition from others. Our friendships and relationships are built around the country at meetings, and it's always like a little reunion to see who's 'got it' enough to stick it out, because only special people make it with this job.
Any individual who has a true spirit of enduring kindness and persistence, especially an individual who constantly improves their own character and condition, will do well. If you thrive on honesty and serving (and making good money), this environment is for you.
I've been recognized several times as a high achiever. That recognition allows me to be an icon and lets my personality shine.
