Will Illinois Death Tax Breathe its Last Breath?

A pair of NFIB-backed bills that could repeal the state’s burdensome death tax continue their path through the Legislature. 

NFIB/Illinois supports repeal of the state’s so-called death tax, which administers a double tax on small business owners’ assets. 

HB 434, which would amend Illinois’ Estate and Generation-Skipping Transfer Tax Act, was not called for a vote in the House Revenue Committee last week.
