The SCORE mentoring program of the U.S. Small Business Administration is looking for Montana volunteers.
“SCORE volunteers enjoy a variety of personal and professional benefits,” said Michelle Johnston, state SCORE director,” in a news release. “You will enjoy the satisfaction of contributing to the success of others, many of them young people with a dream to thrive as an entrepreneur.”
Mathew Varilek, regional SBA director, and Ken Hootnick, regional SCORE director, write, “Often our clients ask questions like:
- what kind of business entity should I form?
- How do I mitigate liability exposure?
- How can I assess competition?
- How can I get a loan? What goes into a business plan?
Occasionally they just need moral support, or introductions to our network of specific industry experts. We address these needs with unbiased guidance based on our own experience – all on a confidential basis, and at no cost to the recipient.”
In Montana, SCORE has over 70 members and chapters in Helena, Great Falls, Bozeman, Kalispell, and Billings serving over 600 individuals annually. All SCORE mentoring is done on a no-fee basis.
