Visit Main Street’s Enchanted Rooms, Nov. 29

Date: November 25, 2014

HELENA, Mont., Nov. 25, 2014—Safe bet there are no enchanted rooms, saddle shops or gluten free stores in any of Montana’s shopping malls. For those and much, much more you have to step out onto Main Street, advised the state director for America’s largest and leading small-business association.
“The variety Main Street offers over the suburban shopping mall will astound and delight consumers conditioned to spending all their time and money on Black Friday, instead of waiting a day for Small Business Saturday,” said Riley Johnson, Montana state director for the National Federation of Independent Business. “Our joint campaign with American Express is also paying nice dividends for the economy. Now in its fifth year, I predict awareness of Small Business Saturday will top 75 percent and sales at local, independent firms to exceed the $5.7 billion after last year’s promotion.”
Both Amex and NFIB offered small businesses a free opportunity to advertise their wares on each website. Those taking advantage of NFIB’s offer included.
  • Belgrade—Montana Gluten Free; Oak Gardens Nursery & Landscaping
  • Billings—Connolly Saddlery; Spike Olive Taproom
  • Bozeman—Gold Plug; Lowell Thomas Tool
  • Butte—Laurie Fashion Square
  • Circle—Prairie Rose Flowers and Fabric
  • Glendive—Enchanted Room
  • Helena—Woody’s Lumber & Sawmill
  • Missoula—Clark Fork Furniture Repair & Audio/Video; The UPS Store
  • Stevensville—Valley Drug & Variety
