Update: Legislative Victories in Alabama

State director Rosemary Elebash discusses small business wins in the 2015 legislative session, including the removal of 300 obsolete laws.

Dear NFIB/Alabama Members, 

As the 2015 Legislative Session winds down, NFIB successfully passed the doubling from $3,000 to $6,000 for claims that can be taken to small claims court without an attorney, removal of more than 300 obsolete laws, revising the unemployment compensation formula for calculating weekly benefits for part-time workers, establishing a statewide uniform due date for collection of taxes on the ONE SPOT system and allowing the collection of lodging taxes on the ONE SPOT system.
