The Continued Threat of Another Minimum Wage Hike in Delaware

Date: November 04, 2014

In 2014 Governor Jack Markell signed
legislation into law that raises the minimum wage to $8.25 by June 1, 2015.  However, there are already union-lead efforts in place to further raise the state minimum wage during the 2015 session.  Although we will not know what the specific
bill will propose, it may reflect one of this past session’s proposals: to raise
the minimum wage to $10.10 by June 1, 2016 and ensure that Delaware’s minimum
wage is never lower than the federal minimum wage.
